Hi everyone! Just wanted to update my blog and tell what I have been up to. First and foremost, I stopped using the UK soap on my arms and it seemed to be fine yesterday after the shower so I'm guessing the UK Dove soap was the culprit. Yesterday was quite a lovely evening. I went to my first wine tasting at the rugby house in town - right by the Old Course which I still have yet to see during the daytime. There was a group of about 20 of us and we had the chance to sample six different wines from all over the world. The theme of the night was Old World vs. New World. Old world meaning France, Italy, etc. New World meaning Australia, New Zealand, California. I sampled 2 whites and 4 reds - the one white (one of the New World ones) was surprisingly good considering I hate white wine. I figured out I like a very mild wine compared to a lot of people who love the bold and quite awful tasting wines. After the wine tasting everyone was hungry so we went to Pizza Express - which I was told was like the UK Pizza Hut. Actually, it was very much the opposite of that. The food was amazing and it was a great atmosphere - the table ordered more wine which I refused after drinking so much the previous hour. I split garlic dough balls and an antipasto platter which consisted of mozzarella cheese, olives, bread, green beans, salami and some other meat, and this roasted tomato sauce which was killer! It wasn't too much food but was very, very satisfying. After closing down the place we walked back to Melville. One person suggested watching a movie in the common room - which ended up being V for Vendetta. I had no idea what to expect but it was honestly one of the greatest movies I have seen in a while! At around 2 am I called it a night, very jealous of the kids back at home partying at Birthday Ball - oh well.. next year! Today I woke up around 12 and went to lunch - which was not so wonderful. I started and finished my book for Thursdays lecture - "The Prince" by Machiavelli which was actually very interesting. Now the rest of the afternoon is free for relaxing! I'm not so keen on going outside since Friday night it snowed about 2 inches - finally I can feel at home!! Oh and the picture is from the town of Pitlochry - where I went for the whiskey tasting. Thought I would kick it old school and bring it back to the Holy Trinity Days. Thank god those are over!!
