Time for a little update.. Last night I helped (well.. kinda) make dinner in the Melville kitchens because we don't get dinner on the weekends. Some friends bought burrito stuff and they were awesome! The kids here go all out making food on the weekends - not like American kids with our Easy Mac and Ramen. I saw one kid making sauce from scratch - really? Anyways, we watched the season finale of Friends oddly enough and ate cheesecake too.. Not half bad cheesecake for a pound I might point out. We played 20 questions after that -where you stick a post it on your forehead and someone writes a name and you have 20 questions to figure out who it is. I had Josef Goebells. Any idea who that is? Yeah me neither, way to go American education system. Apparently he is the head propaganda politician for Nazi Germany during WWII. Yeah I know what you are thinking.. Not such a well-known general individual. I wrote Osama Bin Laden on my friend's head - pretty general right! .. maybe too general since he guessed it in a total of 6 guesses.

After a nice relaxing weekend it was time to get back to what im really here for - partying.. just kidding! I had class today at 10 am which went well. The topics we are covering are really interesting and the professor is very clear and seems pretty knowledgeable. He said if you had never gone to Africa you really should to experience a new way of life. I really did want to go to South Africa this semester, now I am kind of glad that option was eliminated very quickly. Although it is very hot there which I would love!! I'm not sure if I would be able to handle the total culture shock. After class I went down to North Point Grill which is basically my favorite breakfast place in town. It is always packed which is always a good sign of how great the food is. I got my first Scottish bagel! Surprisingly, it was pretty good! I got it with cream cheese and apples which was amazing! I walked back to the Arts building for the Tutorial for my Africa class. It was not as interesting as the class but next week we're covering AIDS and gender in Africa which is something I am so intrigued by. After my tutorial I walked back to Melville where I FINALLY received my long-awaited package!! I was so incredibly happy I ripped it open and found lots of amazing food which will last me a while! I took a nap since waking up at 8 am is hard to do still... ok it is still hard for me to do it at Washington too. Dinner tonight was terrible per usual.. veg taco - which is not a taco. It consists of every known veg, by the way not EVERY veg should be put into a taco, stale tortilla chips and some weird cheese. I basically are the fruit crumb with cream - and by the way, the "crumble" on the fruit consists of about every possibly known seed - bad choice again Brits. Tonight will be a night of reading for my Africa class and pigging out on fruit snacks!!
