We traveled to sleepy Anstruther, Scotland on Tuesday to visit The Fish Bar - ranked Best Fish and Chips IN THE WORLD! I have never had actual proper fish and chips but these were amazing! They have been ranked since 2001 as the best in Scotland and I'm guessing around the world they are pretty well known as well. The town is pretty small and not much else to do besides walk around the piers, check out the boats, and eat fish. They also had haggis and black and white pudding on the menu but we stayed on the safe side. We also got ice cream after - the rum raisin tasted a lot stronger than it does in the US. We caught a bus back to St. Andrews and went out to a nice Italian place - Bella Italia for dinner and had a wonderful meal by candle-light. It was student night so everything was half off and the food was great! We went out to some bars before and after dinner and had a great time! Josh experienced his first "bop" as well. Wednesday we did a bunch of shopping for souvenirs and walked around a bit more. We had a nice lunch at the Vic - finally a good burger! The weather has been amazing and just seems to get better as the days pass. We made a fabulous meal last night - naan with fajita chicken, spicy cheese, sauce, lettuce, and avocado and has some creamed spinach. We also went to the bakery to pick up dessert - the bakeries here seem so much better than in the states. Not only is the food amazing and delicious, but you don't feel awful after eating it! Today is Thursday so I have class at 12 and then we are catching a bus for Edinburgh! I am so excited because Edinburgh is such a neat and historical city. We plan to get up really early tomorrow to go touring the town (Castle, Old City, Whiskey Tour, etc.). Hopefully we will be able to navigate more easily around the city with 2 of us instead of just myself. Our hotel tonight had wonderful reviews and looks beautiful - tomorrow night we are not so lucky and have to stay in a hostel. We will see how that turns out. Josh leaves early Saturday morning to get back to school. I will update more Saturday when I get back. Off to Edinburgh!!
