Joshua Arrives in Scotland!

Joshua arrived in Scotland Saturday after a three hour delay from Manchester. After I got the phone call that he would be getting here later than first thought, I walked around Edinburgh for a couple hours, got extremely lost, and did a little shopping at the nearest H&M. Edinburgh is amazing and beautiful and I can't wait to go back on Thursday! After we met up in the airport, we took the bus back to the city and caught another bus to get back to St. Andy's. By the time we arrived it was around 7pm - meaning we had missed our reservations for 6 at The Grill House! Luckily he wasn't too jet lagged which was nice because I remember being exhausted for around a week after getting here. For dinner we ended up being able to get a seat at Grill House and had an amazing meal.. complete with free shots of margarita which was delicious! We walked around the city a bit and than headed home.

Sunday we woke up fairly early for our day of touring around St. Andrews. We went down to the North Sea, the Cathedral ruins which date back to 1100, and I showed him most of the campus. It was actually a beautiful day as well, the best since I have arrived! I introduced Josh to his first baguette and we tried Irn Bru - the soda of Scotland which tastes like straight bubble gum - apparently it is very popular with Americans but we were not fans. After walking around for about 4 hours we came back to relax and headed off to dinner at Pizza Express. It was delicious and we picked up chocolate croissants on the way home which we have yet to enjoy. I think he is enjoying his time so far and likes the town a lot, i think he already knows his way around! We'll post more later!
